特に、昼間部のChorus:「Weep no more, my lady! Oh, weep no more today!」の部分がなんとも言えず好きですね！

今もこの歌が好きで、たまにYouTubeで聴いたりしていましたが、先日昔のＬＰレコード（ロジェワーグナー合唱団のもの）を引っ張り出して聴いたところ、やはり音色は暖かくて昔のことが思い出されてきました。
YouTubeでは他にロバート・ショウ合唱団の演奏もUPされています。
私的には、こちらのほうが格調高くていいかなと思い、アマゾンで探していたところ、中古のＣＤが見つかり購入。
YouTubeの他に、Spotifyなど配信で聴くことの多い昨今で、ＣＤ自体長らく買ったことがないのに、中古となると今回が初めてでした。
さっそく聴いてみると、もちろん新品同様で音色に何の問題もありません。
ロバート・ショウ合唱団の活動期間は、1948～1967年だそうで、このＣＤもその解散の年の録音でした。
一方の、ロジェワーグナー合唱団のほうは、指揮者が娘さん（と言ってもかなり高齢の方ですが）に交替し、今も世界中に公演されているようですね。
昭和終わり頃、まだ30代の前半でしたが、姫路の文化センターでの公演を聴きに行った記憶があります。「往事茫々」であまり内容のほうは思い出されませんが････。
